Francis Gota
Francis Masami Gota, 90, of Hilo, died April 30, 2021, at Hawaii Care Choices Pohai Malama Care Center. Born in Hilo, he was retired as a state investigator, served as a deputy boxing commissioner and was a U.S. Marine Corps Korean War veteran.
Private services were held. Family requests no flowers or monetary gifts.
He is survived by daughters, Gayla (Clint) Coloma of Hilo, and Claire Kau of Honolulu; sister, Nora Furr of Michigan; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a nephew; and cousins.

Wayne Subica Jr.
Wayne Anthony “Tony” Subica Jr., 51, of Hilo died April 24, 2021, at The Queen’s Medical Center in Honolulu. Born in Hilo, he was a licensed land surveyor.
Friends may call from 3 to 4:30 p.m. June 25 for a drive-through visitation at 2701 Ainaola Drive. Celebration of life memorial services to follow at 5 p.m. Casual attire.
He is survived by wife, Rayelle Subica of Hilo; daughters, Christal Subica and Kelly (Cody) Subica of Hilo; parents, Wayne Sr. and Evangeline Subica of Hilo; sisters, Sharri (Robert) Thornton and Carla (Ecko) Osorio, all of Hilo; four grandchildren; and nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Gloria Yates
Gloria Figueroa Yates, 70, of Kailua-Kona, died June 1, 2021, at her residence. Born July 20, 1950, in Hawaii, she was housekeeper for Angel’s Cleaning Service and various condominium units throughout Kailua-Kona and Waikoloa, a cosmetologist, and security guard for Hawaii Community College and Securitas Security at courthouses in Kona and Waimea.
Services will be held.
She is survived by sons, Kenneth Yates of Hawaiian Paradise Park, and Theo (Lacey) Kawasaki and Kevin (Noelani Cariaga) Yates, all of Kailua-Kona; daughters, Nobilee (Darren) Cho of Captain Cook and Piilani (Jaime) Jaramillo of Arizona; sisters, Lucille Kauhaihao of Washington, Lori (Reggie) Marcello of Kailua-Kona and Emelia (Robert) Fernandez of Kohala; brother, Gilbert Figueroa of Vancouver, WA; 20 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Bryan Asato
Bryan Takeo Asato, 44, of Hilo, died May 14, 2021, at Hawaii Care Choices Pohai Malama Facility in Hilo. Born June 1, 1976, in Hilo, he was a sales manager at T.H.Y. and Associates, Inc. and formerly employed at Lids and Foot Locker on Oahu.
Friends may call from 1:30 to 3 p.m. June 19 for a public visitation. Private memorial service will follow. Casual attire.
He is survived by wife, Chatney Asato of Hilo; mother, Audrey Asato of Hilo; father, Dean (Irene) Asato of Las Vegas; several in-laws; a niece, numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Mae Harano
Mae Midori Harano, 88, of Kealakekua, died May 10, 2021, at her residence. Born July 27, 1932, in Kealakekua, she was a sales clerk at Ace Hardware Store and a member of Kingsley Kumiai and Kona Hongwanji Buddhist Temple.
Private services will be held at a later date.
She is survived by brothers, Sadao (Geraldine) Harano of Chicago, and Harold (Noriko) Harano of California; and numerous nieces and nephews.
